A frequent traveller

Travelling the world offers the greatest exposure to broaden our perspective and makes us be more adaptable, content, without the rushing, the pressure; simply observing and savouring the smallest details when watching the world go by and appreciating the slow unfolding human stories around us.

New places, new cultures, new experiences, the desire to see the WORLD. Travelling does shapes us into a new person, simply through learning, meeting people and gaining new extraordinary insights and inspirations. There is so much to see and learn in this WORLD.

Traveling allows me to bring my full, authentic self, unlocks the full depth of my personality, allowing me to connect with myself on a much deeper level. I don’t think we aren't meant to stay in one place. Moving through the world brings out the true depth and the many unique variety in our personalities.

When travelling I feel like I am giving myself a stronger permission to BE ME, without explaining about the many ways of how I am growing, changing into being who I intuitively know I am. I am curious, open, kind, introspective and love finding quietness in every moment, especially when having a moment for my reflections, and personal growth, when having a moment for my coffee at a local café and watching silently all the narratives unfolding around me.

This kind of experiences allows me to practice receptiveness, gather new ideas, create new dreams and find fondness and joy in engaging in the world; feeling solitude as a space where I deeply connect with myself and the world around me - without the need to engage - overly too much.

Physiologically, the converse is also true; the human body is not built to withstand repetitive adaptations within a compressed timeframe. Hence, we experience stress when crossing multiple time zones too often, which disrupts our mood, sleep patterns, and digestive health requiring our body to constantly adapt which in addition cause prolonged hormonal imbalances, especially for women.

Preparing my luggage for my journeys is essential. The lighter the better.

But, when traveling nearly twelve times a year across multiple countries and continents, whether it is a flight of long hours, or a couple of days' journey; my priority is always to take the extra time to prepare my body first. I start by exercising at home before any flight to minimizes the physical stiffness associated with air travel. I eat a meal rich in protein and fiber before arriving at the airport, skipping the food served by airlines and airport entirely. My most practical solution is packing my own snacks - if I have to [walnuts, cashew, macadamia nuts, I may buy the airport's crrazzy expensive coffee.] We all know that dry cabin air and high altitudes reduce our taste sensitivity, so airlines heavily saturate their meals with excessive sodium and sugar to make them taste normal. For me; personally, avoiding these flight meals is a crucial act of self-care; it stabilizes my blood sugar and eases digestion, preventing the unnecessary inflammation that only worsens jet lag. I prioritize sleeping during my flights to align my circadian rhythm with my destination, to help my nervous system to switch into a restorative 'rest and digest' state of being while soaring through the air. Upon my arrival, I take the time to eat a warm meal, I search for a warm soup, as that is the best choice for my body. Then I do my best to stay awake, to adjust my sleep to match the local time zone. While I have no energy to exercise on the day of my arrival, I make sure to do it the next morning. I keep it very simple, by focusing on moving and stretching my body to allow the lymph to activate and fascia to relax mostly. Please drink water too, plenty of water, warm temperature is your best choice, no ice water recommended - wherever you are in the world, stay well hydrated and drink your water.
